AI agent examples: six agents we built in Dubai

An AI agent does a job, not just answers a question. Here are six from apps we built: what goes in, what the AI does, what plain code checks, and what a person still decides.

1 · Construction · the site report

A foreman’s WhatsApp becomes the day’s report.

In: a WhatsApp message, a voice note or a photo of the daily sheet, in any language. The AI: turns it into the site report, the attendance and the materials used. Stays human: nothing is applied until the user says so.

2 · Contracting · the bill of quantities

A drawing becomes a bill of quantities.

In: a drawing. The AI: briefed as a UAE quantity surveyor, reads it into rooms and areas, labour by trade and phase, and materials with waste allowed. What it learns: the contractor’s own labour rates, so the next estimate starts closer.

3 · Contracting · variations

A site instruction becomes a variation order.

In: a site instruction, an email or a revised drawing. The AI: reads it against the bill of quantities and drafts the variation order. Plain code: prices it only from the bill of quantities’ own rates — the AI never invents a price.

4 · Clinics · marketing

A clinic’s brand becomes a week of posts.

In: the clinic’s photos, logo, fonts, colours and brand manual. The AI: composes on-brand visuals and Reels, writes the copy in English and Arabic, and flags wording the UAE’s health-advertising rules do not allow. Stays human: the clinic approves the week before anything posts — and the AI reads what worked into the next brief.

5 · Any business · the morning brief

The day’s bookings become a brief at sunrise.

In: the day’s bookings, attendance and what is due. The AI: writes the manager a short brief before the first customer arrives, and each week a report for the owner — the number that moved most first, then the best two or three opportunities, with figures.

6 · Audit firms · the first draft

A trial balance becomes a first draft.

In: a trial balance from Tally, Zoho, QuickBooks, SAP or Oracle — Excel or PDF. The AI: puts every account on its line and drafts the statements, notes and report. Plain code: refuses a file whose debits and credits do not tie. Stays human: a licensed auditor reviews and signs.

What the six have in common

Four rules we build every agent to.

  • Start where a person retypes something every week — a message, a drawing, a file.
  • Let the AI read and draft: that is where judgement and language matter.
  • Let plain code do the money, the rates and the totals — it cannot get a sum wrong.
  • End at a person’s yes. The agent proposes; it does not act alone.

Choosing your first agent

Three questions before you build one.

What does someone in your business retype, copy or summarise every week? That is the input. Which number in it must be right? That part goes to plain code, not the AI. Who says yes today? They stay the one who says yes — the agent just gets them there faster.

In the cloud, or in your office.

A frontier model where judgement matters; a small model on your own server where privacy or cost does — with no internet and no per-token fees.
