Choose photoThis passport and visa photo maker crops a portrait to the print size of six document presets or a size you enter: UAE residence visa 43 × 55 mm; Emirates ID, passport / Schengen / UK and India 35 × 45 mm; US visa / passport at exactly 2 × 2 in (50.8 mm); and Saudi / GCC visa 51 × 51 mm. Pixels follow from the print quality you pick, so a 35 × 45 mm photo is 413 × 531 px at 300 DPI or 827 × 1063 px at 600 DPI. The background is removed by an AI segmentation model running in your browser, then replaced with white or a colour you choose; your photo is never uploaded. Auto-fit face measures the head in that cut-out and sets it between the top-of-head and chin guides; then zoom up to 6× and drag to adjust. Download one JPEG, a 4 × 6 inch print sheet with cut lines, or a zip for several people. Acceptance is decided by the issuing authority's rules, so check them before printing.

FAQ
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping, background removal and the print sheet all run in your browser, and your photo is never uploaded. The only download is the background-removal model itself, which is fetched once and then kept by your browser, so later photos are processed without fetching it again.
What pixel size and file format does it produce?
Each photo is a JPEG saved at 95% quality. Pixels are the millimetre size times the DPI divided by 25.4: 43 × 55 mm is 508 × 650 px at 300 DPI and 1016 × 1299 px at 600 DPI; 35 × 45 mm is 413 × 531 or 827 × 1063 px; the US 2 × 2 in preset is exactly 600 × 600 or 1200 × 1200 px; 51 × 51 mm is 602 × 602 or 1205 × 1205 px.
How many photos fit on the 4×6 print sheet?
The sheet is exactly 4 × 6 inches (1200 × 1800 px at 300 DPI, 2400 × 3600 px at 600 DPI), white, with the photos centred and outlined by thin cut lines. It holds 6 copies of a 35 × 45 mm photo, 6 of a US 2 × 2 in photo — which tile the sheet edge to edge and share their cut lines — 4 of a 43 × 55 mm photo and 2 of a 51 × 51 mm photo, because two 51 mm photos side by side are wider than 4 inches. Print it as a 4 × 6 inch photo without scaling so the millimetres stay correct.
Which background removal model should I use?
The default is BiRefNet, which gives finer hair and edges but is slower and a larger one-time download: up to 940 MB, or 473 MB on a GPU that supports WebGPU half precision. Fast uses RMBG-1.4, an 88 MB download that takes a few seconds per photo and suits most portraits. If removal fails, the Background setting switches to Keep original.
Will my photo be accepted for a visa or passport?
The tool sets the print size, resolution and background; whether a photo is accepted is decided by the issuing authority's rules. The head guides use one set of proportions for every preset (crown 10% from the top, chin at 82% of the height, eyes in a band near the middle), not each document's own figures. Check the official specification for head size, eye height and anything else it lists before you print.
Does Auto-fit face work with a ghutra, hijab or long hair?
It measures the head from the cut-out's outline. When headwear such as a ghutra, keffiyeh, hijab or turban hides the jaw line, it locates the chin from where the shoulders start to widen instead. If the outline is unclear it tells you to position the face by hand rather than moving the photo to a wrong place. It needs the White or Colour background, because that is what produces the cut-out it measures.
Can I make photos for the whole family at once?
Yes. Choose several photos together, or press Add more later. Each person keeps their own zoom, position and cut-out, background removal runs one photo at a time, and Download all saves every photo in one .zip, each file named after the original photo and the size.
